I know I haven't updated this for months, or a year. Well, I stopped taking photos.
I would say it's not something I'm proud of, but I did made more videos (Kinda).
Here is my latest work from school, ever since I disappeared :D I would say this project is a good start of my Degree. This was done last year, and currently, I am occupied with more video projects, which I do enjoy, but am exhausted. Well, at least I am more happy nowadays:D
In this project, we had to work on the theme of AN ENCOUNTER. ASJSJKFINAL is about my encounter with my struggles to come up with the "perfect" script during my project. And along the way, I realised that my struggle could have been my encounter, and thus my portfolio was born(:
Special thanks to my wonderful friends to help realise this project:D My inner voice says she's proud haha
Quite self explanatory. Night festival was okay. Managed to take some nice photos, even though I never touched my camera for a few months. Bumped into my lecturer too. Though he was busy.
First and foremost, I would like to give a BIG BIG thank you again to the wonderful and educational experience I have gained through my 3 months in Selffix. Thank you to our supervisor, Eric, who has been guiding the interns including myself; giving constructive feedback on our work performance and making the 3 months a memorable one. I had learned so much, from designing, to branding, and especially, communicating efficiently. So thank you very, very much, for this wonderful internship! I'm never good with words, so I guess the best way I can express my appreciation is sharing some of my works done as prove of how I have improved!
Hopefully, my works will also encourage you, dear reader, to take a look at what Selffix has to offer! Please drop by Selffix at their facebook page and also website for more information about other promotions available!
Artworks are placed according from earliest works to the latest. You may click on the images as well to see the artworks on the designated platforms.
I'm happy to say that I have somewhat made a small step towards being more active in participating in events that makes me apply what I've learnt in school. Though this is something minor, but one step at a time right? It'll be a good motivation for me to be more ambitious and less intimidated by the competition outside.
So! I've participated in the bookmark making competition organised by The Book Depository. It's called Design our Bookmarks!
Here are my entries for the competition. Not having high hopes but it was fun designing a bookmark, for the first time too.
Capsicum Tomatoes and The moss :P
I'm quite upset how much the colours changed during to the file compression because my tomatoes look nothing like that in my original file.. But oh well ): Learnt things the hard way I suppose..
After almost 2 month of "buzziness" and school work, I'm finally able to upload New Year's day vacation to Bangkok!
After much postpone I finally get to look at the exhibition at the Art Science museum! The little black jacket. And I am really amazed of the works by Karl Lagerfeld. Took a few pics of the works that interests me and they are really nice references for me to learn a bit more about portraits. I really enjoyed my stay there. It was just. Awesome.
Looking closely at all the portraits I noticed that all subjects are wearing the same jacket. And it finally occur to me why the exhibition is named so. XD The coolness of this exhibition just went one level higher!
And there was a workshop outside! It was making cyanotypes christmas ornaments and writing your wishes on it! Learned something new today :D Well.. even though Christmas is over, I'm still in the Christmas mood hahhaha oh well.
There comes a time where you live old enough to think "It's been awhile since I went to the bird park/zoo/any local attractions. It's time to visit it again to relive my childhood experience!"
AND YES, I WENT TO THE BIRD PARK AFTER MORE THAN 5 YEARS! And hell it changed a lot, really different from what I remember as a kid when I visited during primary school. I had a good time though, except my mom didn't know it closes at 6pm.... And we got there around late 3pm. 2 hours plus is far from enough to look around ):
Yet we managed to explore 3/4 of the place, which is not too bad. Wished we got there earlier though. Anyway, I had a lot of failed shots, but throughout the day, I kinda got a hang of it. And I rarely used my 35mm hahaha Lucky I heed the advice and got my zoom lens along XD
Feeding time in the Antarctic.
These birds are so cool, I got inches up close to them and they won't fly away :D
That's it folks! And Merry Christmas' eve!
Over this weekend, I have the privilege to stay in the MBS hotel with my sis, aunt and uncle. It was really enjoyable, and I get to swim in the "edgeless" swimming pool MBS is well known for. (: And I like the interior of the room we were given. Spacious, cosy and relaxing. It was very comfortable. Though, I didn't take much of the interior because I don't really know how. So I just focused more on certain details.
After we checked in, we went for lunch! At TWG! Land of where my favourite macarons lies XD And damn those scrambled eggs are so good. Actually, everything there is so good.
And we had TCC for dinner.
Later on in the night, all my relatives and cousins came over for a party night. It was pretty cool, though I wanted to go down and enjoy live music really badly.. But I dropped my phone in my uncle's car... I did went down for awhile later on, just roaming around the vicinity, despite being really tempted to go further but I didn't have my phone.. ): And these are what I took.
Day 2, and we have scrumptious bunch buffet! Yum yum.
And there was a christmas carol! XD
And to end the day, some public jazz performance (Y)
Lastly! Christmas is nearing so so much! I can't wait for it ^^ I'm all in the mood already hehehe Merry Christmas all!
It's the festive month again, with lots of joy and fun, snow and spongebob. Went to Changi T3 (again) with my family, and this time, along with my relatives. They came over for a day, so why not show them around the nice christmas atmosphere?
Was experimenting with the aperture.
Anyway, hope everyone is having a good time this month. Merry christmas. (:
I went to a photography workshop with my sister today at the National Museum of Singapore. Ladies only, and the workshop touched on food and travel photography. Before I go on any further, I'll like to ask for an audience to listen to this fail story XD
I had no idea how, but I misread the location as Singapore Arts Museum, and there I was, happily leading my sister to SAM at the cafe, WHICH IS ALSO CALLED FOOD FOR THOUGHT. So when we were there, but there weren't anyone who seemed like they are attending any form of workshop, let along any notice boards indicating so. Feeling that something isn't right, I checked the location again and yeap, that's when we found out it was National Museum and not SAM. Silly me... Once again, I am really bad with directions.. I honestly have no idea how I misread it as SAM all these while and never noticed the mistake.. I probably just assumed it's SAM? Since I saw the word "Singapore Museum"
Anyway, thankfully we managed to reach there on time, because it's nearby (THANK GOD) and we got some badass stuffs in the goodie bag >:D muahahaha We each got a camera bag. Very sassy and lady like, and we also got an 8 GB thumb drive, a neck strap and some nice brochures. I really really like the camera bag weeee! Though sadly to our horror the leather was kinda damaged and it was flaking off when we took a better look at our bags when we got home.
Overall, I enjoyed myself, although I already knew most parts of what was mentioned. The travel workshop mesmerised me though. It made me look forward to my Thailand trip in January. I can't wait to try to take nice shots of there; the food, landscape and the people. I hope there are markets there too so I can get some interesting shots ^^
And here are some shots taken by my sis and me, practicing some food photography tricks we've learnt today. I gotta say, my sis sure do have an eye for food photography!
I forgot to adjust the white balance before letting her try.. So the colours turned out really tungsten XD But really, you can tell she has an eye for food photography. (: I'm impressed.
Mine. I didn't take much, I let my sis try more cause she's more interested in food photography.
Bon appetit! (:
Here lies all of my works, ranging from photographs to videos.
