What do you think!
Decided to wear LA Lady out for lunch with my friends today. I just got my makeup done and wanted to see how it looks ^^ I've yet to change so my top looks kinda non matchy hahaha But the pink shade looks really good! I like it so much :D It's really sweet looking hehe
I'm still not used to the formula after using matte & liquid lipstick for so long, but I don't hate it. I also added some translucent powder to avoid any lip stains during noms later.
Excited to go meet my friends!
I went shopping with mai gorls and I got me self a new lippie! We had a nice shopping spree, looking at various things. And we went into Etude House at our last stop, I saw this little cutie and thought of giving it a try since it was rather cheap.
This little lippie is Etude House's Mini Two Match lipsticks. They're a series of interchangeable lipsticks where you can keep 2 lip colours with you at any time on a body case. So basically for a set, you'll have to get 3 pcs - the body & 2 lip colours. I thought it's a really cute concept. The case costs $3.90 and each lip colour is $9.90. I didn't get the "full" set because I just wanted to try one lip colour for fun.
I just like how small and cute it is. Also, it seems each colour have a different design on its cap too. Some of them had XOs and others with some cute kisses designs, you can't really choose what u get based on the shade, but you can choose the design you like on the body case.
When I opened it, I was kinda weirded out by the shape of the lipstick, as the "tip" is in the center of the lipstick D: I wasn't sure if it's supposed to help make application easier though. When applying it does feel a little awkward, but it did make applying on the cupid's bow really easy so I guess that's what this is designed for?
The colour I got is LA Lady :D It's this nude dusty pink shade that I wanted to try as it's a shade I don't usually wear. Was feeling a little adventurous so why not XD I was nervous about getting it as it looked a little light, but it turns out to look really natural on me, so I was really happy with it. It also has a very pleasant rose scent to it<3 I always find korean lip shades too orange for me so this have changed my perspective :D One more type of shade for me!
I really like how natural and cute it is, which is good for a casual look. Formula wise, it is more on the creamy side, which I'm not very fond of but I can get over it. It get a little patchy over time, especially when I start eating, but touching is easy with it (Y)
Just happy me posing with new lippie colour! I'm definitely wearing this out tmr again!!
I've heard of Inktober from time to time over the years but I never really knew what it exactly is until today. Really late to the party I know.
So Inktober is a drawing challenge that artists all over the world take on, to do an ink drawing every day during October in an attempt to improve their skills. And I'm wondering if I should make an addition to my blog where I share my drawings.. Will it be too much? I previously only wanted to focus on beauty related topics in my blog, which was why I revamped it a long time ago. I don't want to make too many additions and then the blog becomes messy again. :/
I draw once in a blue moon too. So I don't know if it's worth it to make a new section for something that I don't do often enough. I mean Inktober inspired me to try to be more active drawing but what if I don't commit lols I mean this should be a no pressure kind of situation too so I should just have fun with it. That's my problem - I take drawing too seriously that I lose confidence and feel that I'm not good enough and give up trying lolololol
I'm gonna give it a thought. Maybeee I can make a small sub topic and just dump everything there, so it doesn't take the attention away on my main theme.
Every family have a bad gene pool. For mine, we have bad gastric issues. Usually for me, it's always bloating, indigestion and the occasional acid reflux. Not to mention the big bad stomach flu (though thankfully I'm more resistant to the virus now).
So recently I've been having pretty bad indigestion again, and it could be due to my irregular meals. Usually I could live with the discomfort until it passes, but after having pizza for dinner today my stomach just had enough. This is probably the worst case ever too. I just felt so bloated and there's this constant feeling like there's sth stuck in my tummy. I started getting acid reflux too and I'm just feeling desperate for a quick remedy.
I tried searching the kitchen for some sachets of ginger tea and nothing.. So I searched up how to make some! And it's so simple I felt silly to even google it hahahaha
Anyway! All you need is 3 ingredients:
- Boiling water
- 2 to 3 slices of fresh ginger (more if u want it stronger)
- Honey (For sweetness)
Just put everything together in a cup, let it steep for 5 minutes and you're done! Before I tasted it, I braved for the spiciness of the ginger and I was really surprised at how mild it is. The honey also made the tea taste nicer. My tummy feels a lot better just after a few sips and I feel warm and fuzzy. I just have to wait for the inevitable burp next hahaha Get all those nasty air from the indigestion out of my system XD
Hello!! I'm back with some news on my adventures with the gifts I've got >:D
In the past week I've been using a few samples from my mini collection~ I tried to use products of different functions so I can let my skin adapt to avoid creating any reaction. Makes sense?
I may also have been using too much products on my skin recently and it kind of got my skin balance out of whack.. As a result I've been getting breakouts and my skin feels more oily than usual. So I just want to be more careful. My skin is getting better and clearing now though, so I'm really relieved about that.
Anyway, the samples are pretty good. With the short amount of time I get to use them I was able to see some immediate results. I really like the shampoo & conditioner especially. I feel like it's such a treat to use it for myself.
Amino Acid Shampoo & Conditioner
The bathroom smells like coconut oil when I was washing my hair with these. It was a really soothing scent and I think there's also a hint of argon oil.. Maybe it's just the coconut oil but my brain thinks it smells like argon oil? Either way, it was really nice smelling and it made my hair really soft after ^_^ Hair isn't as frizzy as before too, and it looks more silky. My hair texture is wavy and a little more on the dry side so being able to feel them so soft is a treat hahaha
And my god are they expensive D: The smaller bottles (250ml) are SGD $79 for a set. Gurl, I am not spending that money for a shampoo x_x Maybe when I'm a millionaire yes.
Centella Skin-calming Facial Cleanser
This gel based facial cleanser is very gentle and has no foam. When I first used it, it felt like I wasn't washing my face with anything, because it didn't feel soap at all :o I'm wasn't sure if I used too little or it's supposed to be this way. The cleanser is gentle where you could tell your skin is cleansed, but it doesn't feel "dry" or "squeaky" after. It helped to clear my recent breakout slowly too. It is SGD $51 for a standard 200ml bottle.
Breakout Control - Targeted Blemish Spot Treatment
Recently my Lush Lighting Spot Treatment haven't been super effective in tackling my breakouts so I decided to open up this sample to give it a shot. It is a lotion/cream based product. The scent of the product is quite medicinal, and I could smell it even after application (I applied on my forehead area). I read the ingredient and it has a sulphur inside which is supposed to have drying properties on the acne. Perhaps the medicinal smell came from the sulphur component? It's not bad smelling either, just slightly pungent and strong. It's pretty effective in drying out my acne, and it started to clear slowly too. This cost SGD$52 for a 20ml tube.
To be honest, I'm quite surprised at the price of most of the items I used this week. These are more on the costly side, in comparison to the items I usually get. And of course I feel happy to be able to try them without feeling the cost affecting me XD It's always fun to try to products because you never know if it's actually something you've been looking for. And it's defintely a bonus if it's not so costly hehe After I'm finished with these, I'll be onto the next batch of items to try!
One of the things I enjoy from Kiehl’s is the samples I get whenever I purchase an item. Who doesn’t like freebies! XD
I went to the store and bought myself the powerful-strength line-reducing eye-brightening concentrate today. Ever since my sample finished, I thought it’ll be worth it to get since it’s been so effective. It’s SGD75 for a 15ml bottle. It should last up to 6mths (shelf life is also 6mths).
With my purchase, I got these wonderful samples to try, and I’m going to use the shampoo & conditioner first! Since they’re the easiest to use now. I got a couple of face cleansers too and I’ll use it in between my normal routine just to test them.
I think I need to spread out using the samples just incase my skin have trouble adjusting. Kinda curious how these will work w my skin. Will update soon!
Till then :D
So here it is!
I bought the brightening serum in the end as I thought it was the better option comparing to ANIA, both in volume and cost wise. And I was given 3 other sample items to try from Kiehl's.
Out of the 3 samples, 2 of them also comes from the same Clearly Corrective series, which is what my serum is. The staff told me to try these together to see a better effect in brightening my skin. The first sample I got is a brightening moisturiser, and the other is a gentle exfoliating facial cleanser. The last sample I got, is a eye serum that helps tackle dark circles. When I was looking around, I was kind of torn between getting the brightening serum and the eye serum, so the lady gave me a sample to test it out as well.
I really like the serum in the end and I do think I will include it in my skincare routine from now, including my ultra facial cream. It has improved my skin condition a lot and I really like how "stable" and well balanced my skin is. It feels really great. And as for the other samples. I'll probably get some of them when the samples are finished :D In terms of brightening my skin, I sure definitely see some difference and improvement, and I believe using the products together helped a lot.
Clearly Corrective Dark Spot Solution Serum
When I first started using the serum, my skin wasn't very well adjusted to it so my skin was getting a little oily. But I did see my skin getting shimmery under the light and I loved it so much! I find that using 2 drops is just nice to cover my skin sparingly, if I add too much my skin will become too oily. I also got complimented that my skin looked really dewy and moisturised ever since I started using the serum so I was really happy with the result!
Now that I have used it for 2 - 3 months, the glow effect is not as strong though I didn't mind. Because I noticed an improvement on my skin's condition - smoother and more well balanced.
Clearly Corrective Brightening and Smoothing Moisture Treatment
This moisturiser is gel based, and has a faint herbal scent which I find pretty calming. Just like the serum, my skin took some time to adjust to it. This moisturiser still feels a little oily for my skin, so I use much lesser of the product than I would, in comparison to my Ultra Facial Cream. The good thing is when I use the correct amount, I could feel my skin really moisturised; especially together with the serum. Probably because they are from the same series. So they'll naturally work better together. My skin would look more dewy and shimmery, which is reaaaally nice hehe However nowadays I only wear this on alternate nights, almost like a rejuvenating skincare routine as I thought the oil could help "repair" the skin when I sleep. Wearing it in the day makes me skin too oily and I don't really like how that feels. I still prefer my ultra cream because well, less oily lols
I don't think I'll get this moisturiser after I've finished the sample though, it's nice to have but not really necessary for me.
Clearly Corrective Brightening & Exfoliating Daily Cleanser
This is a very gentle exfoliating cleanser. I only use it once every 1 - 2 weeks to exfoliate my skin. It also has the same scent as the moisturiser. It is a gel based cleanser, with small sandy exfoliating bits (not sure what they are though). My skin feels very clean every time I use the cleanser and I could feel my pores cleaned out pretty thoroughly without feeling dry. I'm not too keen about getting it now, but I may consider in the future when I have more purchasing budget. Since I don't use it all the time, I suppose getting a tube could last me pretty long too(:
Powerful-strength Line-reducing Eye-Brightening Concentrate
This eye serum is really special. I know my dark circles are forever doomed, because they'll always be there due to my sleep routine. I still think this serum helped lighten the darkness a little after using it twice everyday for about 1 month straight? It's really good. What I like about the serum is how it warms up around my eyes during application. It is concentrated with vitamin C which is what helps with lightening the dark skin. The serum has a nice scent to it too. I am considering whether to get it in the future.
I tried to compare this with Clinque's Corrective Dark Circles, but I think each have different benefits so it's hard to say which one is better. The price is about the same, gave the same lightening effect in the same time, etc. Perhaps they are on par? haha
That's all I have to say about these products!
I got Jagua tatts again!
I went for a pop up event to visit a friend's art work and while looking around the different shops there I spotted something that I really like! >:D
The wonderful giant panel with different beautiful Jagua Tattoos caught my attention immediately and I just went over *-* I was so excited to see so many nice designs and because it's still early, there weren't anyone in queue too. I was contemplating about it but I walked away, to give it more thought hahahahah Because the cost is a little high from the pop up, about $5 more than the price I expected.
After walking one round I just decided to go for it hahahah I went back, sat down and started looking at the different designs. And once again I got attracted to those beautiful minimalistic flower designs. And that's what I got! I like it a lot, though I do kinda prefer my previous design, even though this one is cute too <3 The design cost me $18, which is a bit expensive for me.. Partly because they were kindaaaa stingy with their products :/ Which was a little disappointing for me lols But what the heck, it's so hard to find Jagua around so I suppose it's worth indulging a bit.
I really like how the stain turns out after washing off. It looked really legit and I believe, because I kept the stain longer this time, it looked much darker and also lasted longer (the full 14 days this time!) I also tried the powder method to keep the stain on as long as possible.
Just a really simple and short update. Oh and I'll be sharing about my brightening serum experience soon. I know that's so long overdue ): But I have good news to share so yay!
So it's been a little longer than 2 weeks now and here I am checking back in.
I kept thinking about getting the serum because of how much I really liked it. But I knew it wasn't such a great idea (yet) because of how expensive it is, so I went looking around other brands that I use to find a similar product. Just to see if I could find something I like there too. Then I could compare and decide whether it'll be worth it to get the ANIA serum.
And so the "2nd part" of my adventure began. I went to check on LUSH first and I found a moisturising serum bar called Full of Grace. It looked really cool but not exactly what I wanted. But I was amazed at how easily the bar melts, it's so weird. Was tempted it get it just because of that. I'm starting to learn more about myself with how I decided whether something is worth buying lols Whichhhh does makes me wonder if it's worth it to get ANIA just because it's shimmery. Does sound really stupid and wasteful =.=
Anyway, then I checked on Kiehl's and I found a serum that has similar brightening properties. It made me realised that brightening serum is much more common than I had previously knew. This serum also has the same shimmering effect though not as "strong" but I was still mesmerised by it. It's called Clearly Corrective Dark Spot Solution, it's targeted more on clearing dark spots and also giving your skin an inner glow. I also believe it's meant for more mature women (kinda) but it is also suitable for younger women who wants to start their skincare early. It also works perfectly well with my Ultra Facial Cream. The serum is also cheaper, $92 for 30ml, whereas ANIA is $129 for the same quantity.
I got some samples to test it out:D So.. We'll see how it goes! It sure does have similar properties to ANIA, so I'm hopeful.
So I came across this brand yesterday when I was out during my off day. This restaurant was selling products from various brands, ranging from beauty products to stationery. I was looking around and the items were really good quality, and I believe they are from small individual brands. It's nice to see that the products have a platform to be showcased and sold.
Anyway, so I stumbled onto ANIA, they were one of the brands sold there. I was just trying out the samples and I was instantly amazed. The brightening serum was really cool, one drop of the product and my skin was shimmery after. It has a really nice smell too and feels very light weight. I was really amazed at it because it's my first time seeing a product giving so much shimmer haha It got me really interested and I looked in their other products also.
I also tried their moisturising cream that has a matte finish (bonus). And it feels really good too! The cream is light weight and my skin feels really soft after. Afterwards I kept thinking about the product T_T But they are quite pricy. The brightening serum is $129! And the moisturising cream is $59.
Back home I went to research more on the brand. And I found their website here. I found that they specialises in argon oil, and they believe in a minimal skincare routine, and less is more. And I really like the idea of it. Since I myself is also trying to go with bare minimum as much as possible, and I find having too many things quite a burden and sometimes redundant too.
I managed to read more about what the brightening serum does, the Marula oil is high in Vitamin C and E which helps to deeply moisturise the skin. It also has Hyaluronic Acid that helps with firmness of the skin. It also have UV protection properties, something that I like to hear about haha In general it's like a bottle of goodness *-* I really like the effect it has on my skin, it makes it looks so shimmery and dewy, I might not even need highlighter anymore! In fact, if I apply this, I probably just need to slap on mascara and concealer and I'm good to go hehe I also saw many good reviews about the product.. So tempted to get it ): But of course, I must only get it if it is relevant to my needs. Got to save money!
I learned from their website that argon oil as very good moisturising properties as it has been using for many generations in Morocco. Their products are pure argon oil too, with minimal addition of other chemical or products, so it makes it more potent and effective. Their argon oil also comes from Africa, and they are trying to create a community and effort (sorry lack of better terms, it has something to do with making a movement) to help on poverty in Africa. By getting demands for the argon oil, it generates more jobs in Africa and helps the workers to earn money and provide for their family.
I'm really into the brightening serum but I don't know if I should get it. Not because I don't trust the brand though, it's more of whether I need it. Furthermore, with my long work hours, I don't know if I will commit to applying the serum everyday, since nowadays I sometimes forget to apply my cream too as I have to rush off for work lols
I'm going to think about it for 2 weeks and decide again. Of course it's nice to have, but it's not a must, I already have my basic needs for my skincare so this is just a really nice add on that's all.
I thought of documenting how my jagua henna is fading as I found it interesting. I do feel kinda sad about it): My henna started fading off after day 8, and I believe it’s because I didn’t let it stain long enough so it didn’t last. By right it’s supposed to last up to 2 weeks!
I do like how the colour look between day 8 to 10, the light and faded blue colour made it look like a tattoo and it was really cool. I actually liked the lighter shade hehe
I’m going to try looking for the cones when I’m free and play with it！
Hey yo! You have no idea how excited I was when I found out about this wonderful alternative to henna! This is Jagua gel, it's comes from the fruit Jagua that's originated from South America. The fruit was used by the indigenous tribes. They also used the gel similar to henna, by means of aesthetic decorations and also to dye cloth.
I found this link here that talks about the fruit and where it comes from. What I find the most interesting is how the fruit oxides and turns blue-black, which was what made the gel so appealing since that makes it very similar to the shade of tattoos.
My friend and I was introduced to Jagua gel by our mututal friend, who was showing us around Geylang Serai Bazaar. Initially I thought it was black henna and got a little concerned since they are really dangerous. Leaning that this is an entirely different material/ingredient was really cool.
I decided to go for a minimal looking floral illustration as I was in the mood for it. The design cost $15, which I think is reasonable. The look turned out really great, and it's kinda weird how it's so similar to henna. I mean, I don't expect it to be super different, but I thought there'll be some difference somehow, maybe in texture for example. Jagua gel doesn't have a strong scent though surprisingly. If anything, its scent is rather pleasant, though I don't really know how to describe it other than it is nice smelling lols. The staining process is pretty much the same as henna too, you're supposed to let it dry completely, which takes about 1 - 2 hours, 3 hours for good measure. The artist also advised us to put translucent powder and leave it overnight for longest lasting result. Then gently scrub it off during your shower or something. I only left it on for 2 hours bcos I wanted to shower after the hot day.
I was warned that when I removed the gel the stain will be really light, and it will darken over time. The initial stain looked like a very grey green colour, which is also very nice. I saw the full effect the next day when I woke up, I was so happy with the way it looked! Funny thing is, sometimes it looked kinda like a tattoo, but sometimes it looked like I used permanent marker and drew on myselfXD Either way I find this experience really enjoyable and worth every bit.
I heard that somewhere in Bugis sells the gel, so when I have time I'll definitely go check it out, so i can get a few cones and play around with it!
When I was a kid my mom used to give me this green supplement which is good for the general health. I loved to chew on the tablets as it has a really nice “vegetable taste”. After awhile we stopped eating it. I can't remember why, probably got lazy to buy or something. Recently I found out that the green supplement is called Chlorella. I got excited because I always missed that taste, and now I can go look for it! I know it's kinda weird but hey :D
I haven't gotten time to check where Chlorella is available, but chanced upon it recently when I was out shopping. WATSONS was having Father's Day sale and I looked around. At first, I found a pack of Chlorella going at SGD49.90 for the sale, I immediately took it to see but it wasn't a brand that I'm familiar with. So I approached the salesperson to enquire if they have the brand REDSUN (The one which my mother recommended). And they do have it! Although it is more costly, a bottle of 1000 tabs is going at SGD 69, I bought it anyway, I thought it's pretty worth it to top up another $20 to get a brand I've heard before.
For REDSUN, the recommended dose from the brand is 10 tablets a day, and half the amount for children. Chlorella is a supplement that is suitable for all ages:D When I took the tablets, it tasted exactly the way I remembered it XD It was a really nice feeling to experience something you remember from a long time ago.
Out of curiosity, I decided to find out more about the supplement, like what kind of health benefits does it have and so on.
Based on REDSUN's website:
"Are you looking for an all-natural supplement that can strengthen your immune system, boost energy, improve digestion and detoxify heavy metals and toxins from your body? If so, chlorella supplements may be exactly what you need."
Chlorella is a green algae that is rich in phytonutrients including amino acids, chlorophyll, beta-carotene, potassium, phosphorus, biotin, magnesium and B-complex vitamins.
Studies have shown that chlorella supplements can support healthy hormonal function, promote cardiovascular health, lower blood pressure and cholesterol, and detoxify heavy metals from the body.
Chlorella is made up of almost 60 percent protein and contains all eight essential amino acids. These amino acids in chlorella are comparable to that of animal-derived protein, except that it has a slightly lower amount of methionine. Chlorella contains impressive amounts of vitamins including vitamin A (in provitamin A or beta-carotene form vitamin C, ), vitamins B1, B2, B6, B12, niacin, pantothenic acid, folic acid, biotin, choline, inositol, PABA, vitamin E and vitamin K. It also has more vitamin B12 than liver. One tablespoon provides 333 percent of the RDA for this vitamin for adults.
It's really cool how these tiny algae can be so packed with nutrients. I read more about it in different websites and also found that Chlorella is good for people who have gone through radiology or chemo, as the supplement helps flush out heavy metals and toxins. So in a way it can help to heal the body from the harsh treatment.
I felt really amazed at how much benefit this supplement have, I feel really glad to have it again. Almost like it gives me confidence that I'll be able to take better care of myself as the supplement will "tackle all these problems". I do feel that it is a rather naive perception, and it's probably just me being all excited to find it that's all. I'm just glad to be able to include it in my diet again. I hope to see its benefits in a few weeks time as I continue consuming it, while enjoying the taste! hehe
This is gonna sound lame and very much like an excuse. BUT YES I AM COMMITTED TO MY WORK SO I DON'T HAVE TIME TO BLOG ANYMORE, LET ALONE DO ANYTHING MAKEUP AND BEAUTY RELATED ): And it is a shame.
So the best I can do is to write about anything whenever I have time and have a chance to try something. It sucks but here it is.. I don't think I can find a better way to do it. Because now I work 12 - 14 hours a day, 6 days a week and 7 if we get ready intense. It is tiring and very draining. So I take the time to sleep and rest whenever I get the chance.
Enough about the negative stuffs, I got something to show you! In my last post I wrote about my experience using LUSH's spot treatment and how it works really well. During that time I also took a sample of their fresh face mask called Cosmetic Warrior. This mask consists of many goodness that helps to tackle acne.
A little backstory - Ever since I started filming these few months and not getting enough water and rest, my forehead has been breaking out here and there. So I talked to the salesperson about it and she recommended me this fresh face mask as it is supposed to sooth and also clears the skin.
Some of the main ingredients in the mask are garlic, tea tree oil, egg white and grape skin. Each ingredient contributes to soothing, moisturising and even antiseptic properties! I decided to try it because I'm quite interested in the antiseptic effect (I believe comes from the garlic). I read up that this mask also works well with the spot treatment. Many people feedback that the smell of the mask is really strong, which I do agree. The garlic smell is quite strong but I didn't mind because I LOVE GARLIC. I only find the smell of tea tree oil mixed with egg white smell a little repulsive but nothing that I can't handle. *Yasssss*
The texture of the mask is a little like clay, you can see bits of the grape skin and that's about it. Every other ingredient is well mixed into the mask. After 10 minutes the mask dries which is time for me to rinse it off!
And let me tell you!!!! My skin feels so soft and calm. Just when I'm washing it off I can already feel the difference on my face ^_^ Also I can see my skin looking brighter too and refreshed. Afterwards I applied my spot treatment on the affected areas, which is mostly on my forehead. I finished it off with my go to Kiehl's ultra facial cream! Which is amazing and my holy grail now. I really think part of my good skin goes to its help in moisturising my skin and keeping it in good condition!
So there you go! I had a relaxing night in a long time and I haven't felt such good skin in awhile too. Does feel really good to pamper yourself once in awhile when you're out busy filming and torturing your skin in harsh conditions under the sun, in the sweaty heat and all haha
I'm back again. Guilty to say that I haven't been committing to my own goal ahahahaha But! I guess in a way it's a good sign because it means that I have work >:D
Anyway! I got some updates! I got a new product recently to try and I want to share it here. So as I mentioned, I've been busy with work, and with the long hours and lack of rest, my forehead has been breaking out recently and it was quite annoying.
I went shopping with my friend and she introduced me to this wonderful product from Lush, which works really well!
Behold, this is Lush's spot treatment gel called Grease Lightning. It's a transparent gel with tea tree oil and aloe vera that helps soothes the skin with problem areas. It's called spot treatment because it is designed to heal the spots that you have breakouts quickly and gently. On top of that, the gel also acts as a protective layer when it dries, to keep bacterial away from the affected areas and prevent further infections/damage.
On the first day I tried it, I could already see its effect. The zits dried out by the next day and they soon healed in the next. I know it may sound really exaggerated but my zits did heal within a few days. The product is very lightweight as well, it doesn't feel like there's anything after it dries. Although you could feel the applied area to be slightly smoother. I applied moisturiser then sunscreen after, and it works out well, no clogged pores, nothing.
I'm just really happy with this product because it's so simple yet effective. Price wise, I think it is pretty reasonable. $30 for 45g of product, which I think could last me at least a few months? Since I only have a smaller problem area. I am sharing it with my family too so it's definitely worth it! Another happy point for me is that they use fresh ingredients and no crazy chemicals inside, which is friendly to the skin! That made me feel really safe for using their products and enjoy it.
So that's all for now! I'll be MIA again for a few weeks I'm sure. Let's see what wonderful product I come across next! :D
Doozy is officially empty ): On the bright this is probably the first time I finished a lip product and having to throw it away, so I'm happy about that. I thought the bottom still have product, but I think it's just very little, because my wand couldn't reach it. I guess I'll need to go Colorpop for some shopping sometime this year because Zuma is finishing too, which leaves me with 3 lip colours. I'd love to get frick & frack again anyway, that lip colour was bomb </3
I use Zebra once in awhile, and I realised the shade is not that crazy and actually pretty wearable. With Doozy finished, I'll try to wear Zebra more and be used to wearing metallic shades :D
My biggest disappointment is definitely Dopey. The shade is so dark it makes me look older lols Kinda sad about that.
I noticed my hair got longer and I started playing with it, such as combing it in different ways and so on. I did miss having center parting and it was fun to see myself looking nooby XD And then I got an idea and started working around a look. It's not really a proper makeup thing, but more of a concept photo which I imagined can be for promoting a lipstick maybe? Anyway this was kinda fun and an impromptu thing. So yeah!
So the accidental look that gave me the idea was 2 bulk of hair covering my eyes. And I was like "hey this looks interesting" and I started to sort of "refine" the look to make it more polished, like how I would want it to look for a photoshoot. Of course it won't really be that good, because I think I'll probably need hair gel & spray to really keep the lines clean, but I just showered so all I used is water haha
So what I did first is pull the rest of my hair back to only accentuate the 2 strands, but it looked kinda weird. Perhaps the focal point on the front is too much. Then I put back my hair to the side and dampen my fringe more to keep the lines straighter and the ends more pointy. However it dries quickly as I took too long to arrange the shape.
I didn't want to stop, so I went full ahead to try lipsticks on, even though I just showered. It's easier to remove lipstick than hairspray anyway. I wanted to have like a funky lip look to go with the hairstyle, so I tried to paint my lips half on alternate sides as shown. Unfortunately it didn't look very nice. Probably because my execution sucks XD
Then I just went to apply it normally, but I exaggerated my cupid's bow to be very angular, and I also extended my smile line to make my lips look bigger. I got frustrated and took out my lip brush to help with precision. I also made a pointy end on my lower lip but you can't see it in the pic.. The dark lip colour works well with the look (and somehow it makes me look pale). Oh also this is my Urban Decay Lipstick Blackmail, which I don't wear much anymore. Plus it's kinda overdue with its shelf life, so I usually only use it for fun like now. I think this look is pretty cool! It will work well if executed better. (I foresee a future attempt maybe)
I somehow imagine this look to work well very a stunning red too, my hair colour probably will create a contrast with the lip colour. And the reddest lipstick I have is Calvin Klein's which SO got for me a long time ago. And same for this, I only use it for fun bcos shelf life. Applied with the same manner - cupid's bow minus the pointy lower lip.
I was disappointed the look wasn't as how I imagined. However I do find this look more natural and wearable. It could be the colour and execution I think. This look is cute like those innocent looking style. And I tried to twist my hair to keep it in place, looks pretty interesting too. I then tried with my colourpop's Ultra Metallic Zebra but it could barely be seen. I forgot to take a pic. (Genius) You can also see my hair is starting to go cray and it's drying up haha
So that was it! Just a short experiment with hair and stuffs.
Till then and Happy Good Friday!
Yeap, I'll have you know that I've really tried to take clearer photos of my eyes with my phone T_T But it seems close ups aren't really great when the camera is designed for selfies. But here goes.
I wanted to do a proper review on Kiss Make Heroine Mascara with Advanced Film, as I felt that I've only went through very briefly during my last make up post.
One thing I kind of surprised myself with is how the product design is slowly growing on me. I wasn't a big fan on how dainty it looked at first, with all the pinks and chrome, but it does look cute to me now. I still really like the black bodice which makes the overall look classy (then again it's like every standard mascara packing to be mostly black lols)
The wand is more on the thin side and I can always see traces of fibres sticking out. And I'm pretty sure the fibres helped with the long lashes effect. And as mentioned, I read many reviews online saying that the advanced film formula takes awhile to dry and it tends to smudge their make up. But I've not experience any issues like that so far (maybe this is the advanced advanced film HAHA). In fact I find the formula thin and lightweight, it didn't felt like I have anything on, and my lashes looked natural too.
In comparison to my previous REVLON Ultra Definition mascara, I do think this product have a slightly more lightweight formula. On the other hand, Kiss Make's wand is a "brush/fibre" wand and I'm one who prefers a "comb/plastic" wand, so Revlon gets award a point. I really enjoy both brands so I really don't have a preference of which one I like better.
In terms of how well the mascara works, I will say I love it every time when I look at my eyes after application, it's like a cherry on top for my make up look. It makes me happy to see that my lashes are well defined and long, and doesn't look like cockroach legs. It's really a pet peeve for me to see overly coated mascara x_x You can also see the difference in the before & after pic. Pardon the bokeh my phone don't do close ups.
So this is it! So much better.
I mean, I've already got over it. I've accepted my sad fate with septums. My face just don't suit it lols But perhaps it looked better with round specs? Maybe?
Just a thought.
My skin feels amazing the next day :D It didn't feel oily at all and my skin still feel soft. Perhaps the balancing gel helped regulate the oil secretion on my skin. No wonder it's such a well received product. However it is pretty expensive for a bottle. I'll break my heart to spend $120 on it T_T I'm gonna savour the sample as much as I can haha
