I'm planning to make some minor changes to my blog. I noticed I've been really enjoying writing about beauty products and the increase in readership ever since is encouraging me to write more too. So I thought maybe I could try making my posts more beauty focused. That way it'll make it easier to navigate through my other posts about random things in my life.
Thank you to anyone who've been reading up I hope the information have been somewhat helpful!
Today I went shopping to look for some remedies for my worsening dark circles. (I know, the first big remedy is SLEEP. But since that's not really possible since I'm always sleeping late. Let's just assume that's not an option.)
Since I have some credits I can use away, I thought I could go to the department store to find some brands which I like and look for some samples.
I've always liked Clinique's Pep Start eye cream ever since I tried their sample. But it's quite expensive (SGD 50 for I think 15ml) so I never considered getting it. After some looking up, I realised it's not really suitable for my situation right now either, since the cream is meant to tighten, hydrate and brighten the under eyes as a quick remedy for a busy lifestyle, and not so much of a long term remedy to fixing dark circle issues.
So I approached the staff at the store and asked for some advise. She introduced me to 2 eyes creams.
The first being RepairWear Anti-Gravity Eye Cream(SGD $60). It's a pink gel that is supposed to tackle fine lines and brighten the under eyes. I'll quote from the website:
"Densely hydrating cream helps lift up, firm up around the eyes. Helps erase the look of fine lines and builds cushion into time-thinned skin. Even the first application creates a cushiony feel and a brighter look. That's just the beginning."
So that sounds pretty good. It's very light too and could be absorbed easily. It have some shimmery dust inside too which was supposed to help with the brightening effect. Another thing I learned is, apparently these eye creams are catered to be non-heavy so that it doesn't clog the skin at the area which is actually very delicate. The more you know huh.
The other one I got to try is called Even Better Eyes Dark Circle Corrector (SGD $70). Now this is more concentrated on helping with dark circle issues.
"Benefits Hydrates and Brightens. Lightweight eye cream is clinically proven to visibly lighten dark circles by 30% in 12 weeks. Instantly brightens all skin tones. Ophthalmologist tested. Cooling metal tip helps massage away puffs."
It is more cream based but still very light. The product is also skin toned for some reasons, though it is not like a concealer of sorts. It's much nicer than the RepairWear. A bonus point for me too is the meal tip, which acts as a massager to help with better absorption. I was more keen to this one as I could feel my skin hydrated very quickly. However it's really expensive (70 bucks omg) so I was contemplating if it'll be worth it. I know, technically it's free since I'm redeeming credits for it but what if I wanna buy again? Will I be able to afford it?
In the end I asked for a sample to test it out first. Hoping it'll be my holy grail for dark circles. Oh did I mention, the staff is a little judgemental too haha When I asked for a sample she reacted like I've exploited her like an aunty trying to be cheapskate ): She even tried to explain to me that she can't give me much cause it's expensive. And I'm like "Err it's fine, I don't need a lot. I really just want to test it out." x_x It was quite awks. Well at least I got it anyway, and get to test it.
Btw my journey doesn't end here >:D I went on to test out 2 more brands.
The next brand I tried out was from Aesop. They are known for using plant extracts in their products. I've always thought they only focus on bath and body products but apparently not! I'm glad they have this eye serum in the product line. The staff was very informative and helpful regarding my concerns with my dark circles.
The Parsley Seed Anti-Oxidant Eye Serum is sort of like an oil extract, so it is very potent. It is recommended to only use a drop for both eyes. When I tried it I can't even finish one drop XD Anyway, as it is very concentrated, you are advised to keep massaging the serum until it is fully absorbed into the skin. If not it will leave an oily residue on the skin which might clog the pores.
"This concentrated, vitamin-rich serum delivers targeted hydration and nourishment to the delicate skin surrounding the eyes. Abundant in anti-oxidants and fatty acids, it possesses exceptional protective benefits."
It instantly makes my eyes feel very refreshed and relaxed. Somehow the serum took away the fatigue on my eyes too. And the guy in the store said it could also be used anytime in the day when you need some refreshment or a break for the eyes. It's really good but it's really expensive.. A small bottle for SGD 106. So.. yeah. However he did mention that the small bottle can last up to 6 months, so in a way it's worth it too. I got a sample pack to test it out and see if it is working to the way I want it and before I come back again.
The last brand I looked for is Dr Wu. It's a Taiwanese based brand that I was introduced to by a relative. The products are dermatologically certified so they are definitely safe for use. I was keen of it so I wanted to take a look at them. So far they are the cheapest, priced at SGD 59.90 each.
The sales person seemed really inexperienced to me. She couldn't give me more information about the product that was't already written on the packaging itself. I just find it a little pointless as a result because what's the point of having someone assisting you if all they do is read off the packaging. It's the same concept as reading off the slides. But anyway.
I was recommended the orange first. It's a serum that is formulated to brighten the eyes and fight dark circles and fine lines. The vitamin C will assist in reducing dark circles, as how I've found out too through my research. It is easily absorbed, and very lightweight. No scent too and it feels very nice.
"Brightening Eye Serum With Vitamin C+ is formulated with several patented technologies that dramatically improves skin elasticity and firmness and help reduce the appearance of serious dark circles, puffiness and under-eye bags."
The second one, which is more of a hydrating serum, is recommended to me as the staff see that my eye area is quite dry, which she concluded led to my dark circles. I don't really know if that is just her trying to hard sell me or not, but okay. I kinda prefer the orange one just because it is targeted at resolving dark circles. The hydrating serum is just okay. It does feels kinda hydrating, but also it's really not what I'm looking for.
"Advanced Hydrating Eye Cream is formulated with several patented technologies which dramatically improve skin elasticity and nourish the delicate skin around the eyes. Its main ingredient 5th generation HyaluComplex, which attracts, retains and creates hydration and moisture all through skin layers."
I was hoping to find out more about the product but I can't as the sales person isn't very detailed about what it does.. I'll have to do more research and review comparison I guess.
After testing the different serums on my hand, I could feel the differences of each. I compared the effects based on the softness of my skin and smoothness to determine if it is working or not. I know it's not exactly an accurate test but based on feel, I think it could be a good indicator? Haha And currently, Even Better Eye serum is in the lead.
I'm not gonna get it right away though. I think I should test out the samples first, and observe its effects. I should probably look up more reviews too to compare these few brands. I think I can safely consider between Clinique and Dr Wu too as they are my most ideal options now. As much as I love Aesop, it is too expensive for me T_T
During the wee hours I've decided to wear a mask. Not really to pamper myself, but just to use it off before it expires hahahaha Welp.. After all I did have too much skincare products because of a shopping spree last year in KL where me and my sis spent too much and got too much freebies.
Anyway, this mask was a freebie/gift which we got from guardian. It was about $2 per mask, and that time we had about 5 if I remember correctly. This was the last piece left. Not sure why we've decided to stop wearing the mask and leave this lonesome one unused for almost a year now lols. Fret now, this mask expires in 2019, so it is still safe to use (Y)
This mask is a root water mask, extracted essence of different beneficial root herbs and so on. Supposed to moisturise your skin and keep them soft and baby smooth. And apparently recommended to be used daily. (haha I see what you did there guardian, making people buy more so you can earn money! But $2 for daily use is too much boo, so no. XD)
When I opened it, I was quite amused. I didn't think the mask will be black, though I should have because the packaging is black. And need I mention I look like I'm wearing a burglar mask with the black sheet mask XD So funny. You're supposed to wear the mask on for 10-15mins, I wore it for about 13mins. A good indicator to know when it's time to remove the mask is to listen to your skin. At the 12 minute mark I could feel my skin like it couldn't absorb anymore of the essence and that's when I took it off. So you don't have to exactly remove your mask by 10minutes or 15, it is meant as a guideline. Listen to how your skin reacts and remove it when you know it's right.
Also, to enhance your experience of wearing a mask, always chill it in the fridge first. I don't really know any benefits for it, but I do enjoy the coldness of the mask on my face. It's a very indulging feeling where you lie on your bed with your face cold for 10minutes, it's amazing.
After I removed the mask, I patted the excess into my skin and wiped off any excess with my hands and spread it to my neck instead. One thing I don't really enjoy is that it leaves a sticky feeling after it dries. To me that kinda also meant the mask is of lower quality, because higher quality products always never have this issue. But I mean it is a free mask, so no complaints, but that FYI, ya know.
To counter this feeling I sometimes hide in an air conditioned room, not sure why it works, but somehow cold and dry air reduces the stickiness on your skin.
I don't really feel that my skin is moisturised, but I did feel refreshed afterwards. Glad I didn't waste my mask and I get to have better skin (sorta) too! After all, I haven't been taking care of myself very well, which have affected my decisions in life which is regrettable.. But this have helped me a little so that's great!
Also my lips have been cracking quite badly recently.. Time to drink more water T_T
After about 2 weeks of using ColourPop, especially Ultra Blotted Lips, here's my final conclusion of my take on the product quality, durability and comfort.
A. Ultra Satin Lips
Product quality: 4/5
It is a great dupe/ cheaper version of Jeffree Star, in the aspect of it being not drying, and long lasting. The only down side is that is it not transfer proof.
Will consider buying again.
B. Ultra Blotted Lips
Product quality: 3.5/5
I would give it a 4, if only the formula is more consistent. Meaning, sometimes it flakes and sometimes it's flawless. Though I am getting a hang of it and starting to love it. Good things are that they are very comfortable(when they behave) and I really enjoy the velvet texture, and lastly it is lightweight and long lasting (until you start eating).
Best colours to get are their nude/natural lip shades. Especially Zuma. DO NOT get cherry on top or darker shades. They are too sheer to have an even spread on the lips, making the lips look bad.
Will only consider buying the lighter shades. Actually I will get Zuma again because I love that colour so much.
Product quality: 5/5
The eyeshadows are everything. I love the texture and it is very unique. very blendable and the colours looks great.
Will buy again.
Product quality: 4.5/5
I love everything about it, but I hate that it is not as long lasting as I wished. Also I love the unique texture like the eyeshadows. Also it can be a little sheer, but buildable.
Will consider buying again.
So I've been wearing my UBL more and I'm having a different feedback about it.
Zuma & Doozy have been really good and comfortable for me. They are quite lasting for a day's wear and they no longer crack easily. It's quite strange because it's so different from when I first wore it.
I'm not sure what caused the difference, but I can speculate a few?
1. Perhaps I was smiling and talking more when I wore cherry on top, which caused the cracking. So when I wear the colours on normal days where I talk less, less cracking and flaking action going on.
2. My lips are more accustomed to the formula.
It still wears off when you eat, but reapplication does not trigger the flaking as much. However I still prefer to wipe off the product as much as I can before reapplying.
Not to mention someone complimented me when I was wearing zuma, saying it's very natural and suits me well:D Yay!
I am liking them more and more for sure, though I'm still deciding if they're worth buying again.
Okay so, I've worn Frick & Frack out today and it is so far the better option for ColourPop lippies!
It haven't cracked yet and doesn't feel drying at all. Neither have I retouched it since my first application and it is looking good. I'll say it is the non transfer proof version of Jeffree Star, based on my criterias of a comfortable liquid lipstick.
I'm pretty happy about this! I'm adding this to the list of things I don't mind getting again from ColourPop ^_^
I've also tried wearing Tang today, it is definitely a more subtle look(:
I've also eaten with Frick & Frack on, and the colour stayed pretty well, most of it were gone but you can still see the lips with a bit of the colour tinted on it.
A. God bless ColourPop
B. God bless ULTRA. BLOTTED. LIP.
Oh. my. God. I am SO in love *-* I never knew ColourPop is so amazing I wished I had gotten them earlier!!!
I was introduced to this cosmetic brand by my friends last year but I wasn't really feelin' it then. Because I was all about Jeffree Star liquid lipsticks and that's all I cared about. Colour Pop? Mehhhh.
Welp. I've decided to try the stuffs this time because of 2 reasons: there was a sale going on, and I also happen to see a "How is that made" episode about how lipsticks are made. AND COLOURPOP WAS THE SPONSOR/ SAMPLE. So I thought, damn, the lippie stix looks pretty cool. Since there's 20% off, maaaybeee I can get one first to try???
And then here we're now, where I got 7 items in the end hehe Also, I've received these on 16 May, and I've swatched them then also. But I'm making a review now after having wearing them out in a day. :D
Anyway, let's get on to what I've got!
Things I've got:
Ultra Blotted Lip: Zuma
Ultra Blotted Lip: Doozy
Ultra Blotted Lip: Cherry on top
Ultra Satin Lip: Frick & Frack
Highlighter: Lunch Money
And a free eyeliner brush for every 2 eyeshadows purchased!
I initially wanted to get lippie stix, but as I explored the products more, I found myself to be more fond of the ultra blotted lip. I looked up swatches and reviews on them, and felt that they will be more suitable for me. For they are transfer proof as compared to lippie stix, which is more of the normal kind of lipstick.
Swatches of lippies
Reviews on first swatch:
The satin liquid lipstick - Frick & Frack
It is really comfortable to wear. It may not be transfer proof, but it is comfortable and lightweight. When it dries, it leaves a little shimmer which is really nice. If you keep rubbing your lips together it will start flaking off. For its price, I think they are pretty good though. But I still prefer Jeffree's formula.
The ultra blotted lipsticks - Zuma, Doozy, Cherry on Top
They are also lightweight, and leaves a velvety feeling after it dries. I really like Zuma as it looks very natural, and I look forward to wearing it daily. Doozy is a slightly pinker version of Zuma; Cherry on Top is a really nice dark colour, however it spreads quite unevenly on my lips during application.
Reviews on wearing it a day:
So far, I've only worn the ultra blotted lips out - Zuma and Cherry on Top. It is slightly more drying than Jeffree's lipstick. I'm a little disappointed that it starts to flake and crack after wearing for a few hours. It reminded me of my NXY suede liquid lipstick.. It also have similar problems as NYX where the more you layer the product, the more prone it is to flake, which leaves little crumbs on your lips that feels really gross.
It flakes off very easily especially when you're eating, which is uncomfortable and made me conscious about it. It was so bad that I wipe them off before I eat to have a peace of mind. The flaking is more obvious when I wear Cherry on Top because of its darker colour. Zuma was less noticeable as it is closer to my lip colour. ): So I guess these lip colours are only more suitable for a more casual or short day. I still prefer Jeffree's formula as they are longer lasting.
Swatches for eyeshadows & highlighter
Reviews on first swatches:
The highlighter: Lunch Money
I am pleasantly surprised at the texture. I thought it would be in powder form, but it is more of a mix between cream and "slime"?? I can't quite explain it. It feels squishy where you can press it down like slime, and it bounces back into its shape slowly. It's very unique. I was really amazed at how pigmented it is on my fingers too. I am aware that the best method of application is with your fingers, but it made it a little awkward to apply on my face. But it is buildable so it made mah cheeks cutting sleek woo!
The eyeshadows: Elixir, Tang
They have the same creamy squishy texture, and I am SO IN LOVE with Elixir!! My synthetic brush is able to pick up the product but it needs a bit force to "dig" into the squishy product. But it is very pigmented so a little goes a long way. Very bendable as well. I can't emphasise how much I love this shade. It is such a perfect colour for trying out red tones! Which I have been wanting to but couldn't find the colours anywhere! The shade looks so good on me, and I can't wait to try a grunge makeup look because I have been dying to try it!! Such a good buy!
Where as for Tang, it is a more neutral purple shade, which nice for a more subtle wear. And the shade matches with my TheBalm Nude'tude palette. I can't wait to try to match it to make a slightly cooler toned makeup look since I've always been wearing browns instead.
Reviews on wearing it for a day:
So far I've only worn Lunch Money and Elixir for almost a day, for a special event. To give more context, I have to attend a formal event in the evening, but we had to set up the space in the afternoon for it. Due to time, I had to have my makeup done before coming, so I was moving about quite a lot. With that said, I'll say Lunch Money is not as lasting if you're gonna be busy running about. It pretty much is gone by the time I'm ready for the event, and I had primer on too. You definitely need to top it up now and then for the best effect. Look wise, it enhances my features quite a bit; my nose was higher/sharper and so are my cheeks. Which I didn't mind hehe
As for Elixir, I wore it for the same event too. It is pretty long lasting, though I could see the colour faded a little and needed some touch ups for the full colour opacity. I had a little on my lower lids but they were pretty much gone. I still looked good though so that's good haha. Once again, I had primer on too, which definitely have helped with the durability.
All in all, I'll say I'll only consider getting their eyeshadows again in my next buy and not so much of their lip products. My biggest pet peeve for my lipsticks are flaking and cracking so I can't deal with it. As much as have I hoped otherwise, Jeffree Star is still my go-to lipstick now, and I'm kinda bummed about it because they are quite expensive.. Annddd I kinda wanted to boycott it before but welp. It's hard when they are good ): lols
I definitely am a little disappointed about the formula quality as I was really looking forward to be "converted" and have like a holy grail moment. But ehh.. Didn't work out after all. I am still in love with the lip colours for sure, but the formula? Not so much):
Plaza Singapura have a Watsons sale today!! So I got the chance to get myself some small beauty blender because my current beauty blender is wearing out.
Of course, this is not the same brand as beauty blender. It's W7 Mini Power Puffs! As cute as it is, I did a quick review research on them bun buns to see how well they fair. And the results turned out pretty good so I've decided to get them.
A pair of these cost $9.90 SGD. I got the small ones because I've only ever use my beauty blender to apply concealer to my under eyes. Might as well get a small one right? So I won't waste.
Here's a comparison of the sponge when it's wet (left) and dry (right)
And comparison to the beauty blender!
Texture wise, they feel really really similar to me and it's not as hard as I expected it to be, which was mentioned in some reviews of the sponges.
I can't wait to try it tomorrow, I think it'll be perfect for me! Hopefully XD
So I've been using this mascara for about 2 weeks now and I'm loving it!
REVLON's Dramatic Definition waterproof mascara is really suitable for you if you want natural looking lashes that is long and defined. I've never fancied spider legs looking lashes so this really complements my needs very well!
The brush itself is pretty wide, which helps separate the lashes when you apply the product. It's not clumpy either and in a way, smooths itself onto the lashes. You can see the effect of the mascara below:
I am hoping that this mascara is not a limited edition so that I can get it again when my current one runs out! The last time I was really LIVING for Maybelline's the Magnum Volumn' Express Ultra Comb because the mascara's brush was really good at distributing the product and making the lashes look really natural. Unfortunately when I tried getting a new one it was discontinued...
So yeah! I hope I can get this again next time!
I got new shoes yesterday! My current slipper-sandal was getting a little loose fron wear and tear and it was getting uncomfortable when I walk in them.
I kinda regretted shoes in that style because of this reason. The grip isn't good when it starts wearing out. Well at least I've tried this style and know it's not suitable for me(:
I got my BHPC sandals from the same shop in orchard gateway called TON. After so long the promotion was still going on! Though most of the designs were gone, so I guess the shop is really trying to clear the stocks.
Sandals were also left with the design I got. I wanted to get the red one but it didn't have my size): So I got the black one which is basic and simple too. I forgot how comfortable these are when they are new xD
I think I've converted into a loyal fan!
So! I've tried to swatch my eyeshadow palette today as I'm having trouble concentrating on my assignment hahahaha So what better things to do than to take a break by swatching?? XD
My first impression of it is that it's really.. sheer): It's not as pigmented as I'd like it to, then again it's $22 so you can complain with that. Though I kinda feel that I should have invested in Urban Decay now :/ But! I haven't placed it on my eyes so maybe it'll be different then. Maybe my skin tone is too light? Because there are a few shades that is virtually invisible when I put them on ):
From the swatches, the most pigmented shades that worked for me best are the greens and the orangy tones. The rest were okay, except for the lighter shades like Floss and Crete. Floss is really close to my skin tone so it's practically not visible, but when I tilt my arm at an angle I can faintly see the colour. Crete is just not very well pigmented.
So far my fav colours are Bamm! and Dragonfly as it transfers the best on my skin. I'm going to try doing a look soon and hopefully make myself look nice rather than a clown hehe!
Ohhhh mai gawdddddd. My Sleek makeup eyeshadow palette is finally back in stock after so many months!
I was contemplating if I should buy it now because I want to collect the item myself to save on mailing fee but I'm quite busy recently.. Cause home girl is broke af and have school):
The good thing is, I've discovered how to use POPstation when I self collected my order:3
Buying the i-Divine Ultra Matte palette online also gave me the privilege to select 2 free samples~ I got smashbox's foundation primer and TheBalm's dessert bronzer/blush.
i'm excited about the bronzer because I've never tried it before. And the packaging looks really nice.
So here's the exciting part! When looking through the different mailing options on Sephora, I found 2 options which would be the most ideal for myself. The first was to self collect at the warehouse located at henderson, which is like 3 bus stops away from my house (small world!!!). And the other where I use the mailing services from POPstation, and choose one of the listed outlets to collect my parcel. Shame that they don't deliver to Safra because that would have been perfect xD
Anyway! I wasn't sure if I can pass by henderson as it's quite out of the way for my daily traveling route, so I've decided to collect my parcel at Thompson CC POPstation. It would be along the way from school so it shouldn't be a problem. How POPstation works, after you've made an order it will be processed and POPstation will send u a code that you'll key in to retrieve your parcel. After you enter the code at the POPstation, a box will open and reveal your parcel!! After you retrieve it, you need to lock it back.
Now the main star! The palette is a lot smaller than I expected. It is about the size of my hand, and each colour is est to be 8g. The colours look really good though! But the pigmentation is not as dense as Urban Decay, but it is still good enough to use.
Currently I'm still finding out how to wear a look with these nice colours. Haven't had the time to experiment with it yet. Can't wait though!
I broke my specs last night.. So now I have to get contacts to deal with my blindness.
I forgot how much I dislike contacts. Got these from Spectacle hut.. I think I should have waited for when I am more free to buy instead of getting it in rush.. Suspecting that the reason why it's so drying on my eyes could be that it's not fitting.
I feel like I've wasted 60 bucks on these.
I felt much better today after spending time with loved one and friends.
I got a really special gift today and I couldn't feel more spoiled haha I really love the gift <3 THANK YOU THANK YOU.
I got to eat ramen too, which I haven't had in weeks.. The evening was great spending time with friends for a christmas steamboat. I'm glad that my social skills improved. I'm less awkward but I need to keep working on it. I was still uncomfortable today, but I managed to keep it under more control this time.
I managed to make my seashell necklace too and that made me feel great :D Now I can wear it out to show off the beautiful shells <3
Thank you for everything today. From the gift to helping me drill holes and accompaying me to the steamboat. I really appreciate it :D WAIT FOR YOUR NEXT GIFT TOO. I hope you'll like it XD
I'm glad that I felt much much better at the second half of the day(:
Especially after spending time by myself in the library today, I felt sort of rejuvenated and at peace. Somehow the sight of books made me feel happy, and the quietness of the library made me feel very at ease and calm. I was very productive today as well and managed to churn out some words for my dissertation! I'm excited to finish it all by tonight!
Also, when I was on my way to starbucks, after having a tired neck from bad posture sitting in the library, I passed by this shop called TON, just nearby outside Orchard Library. And the sandals caught mah eye. *-* Ever since my previous sandals broke, I've been having trouble finding another one that is comfortable and practical. I've been wanting to try a specific type of sandals too where the sole is contoured. But I need to be careful with shoes like that because of my birthmark.
So the sandals at TON were having a sale, all designs at $35.90. That is pretty cheap for some good quality sandals, and it's leather too. So I gave it a try. Oh mai gawd, it's so COMFORTABLE!! On top of that, the edges of the sandals are not contoured too high where it will be pressing against my birthmark. So I was able to wear it!! All the designs were really nice and basic, just the way I like it. :p In the end I has trouble choosing one cause I like all of themmmmmmmm.
So, long and behold, here is the pair that I bought:
It's simple and pretty! And gosh it's so comfortable! I'm going to wear it out tomorrow^_^
The brand is called Beverly Hills Polo Club. I searched up the website and it seemed dubiousD: Because on google search results, there is a warning message saying that the site may be hacked. (Whut). Strangely though, the same website has a Qoo10 shop so I guess it is legit. Quite a number of people have bought from them and the feedback are positive.
I don't know if I'll buy from them online. But I'll for sure buy from this brand again after this one dies. XD Hopefully TON still sells them after my current one is dead hehe
NOW BACK TO MY DISSERTATION.
I know. I'm such a hypocrite.
But yes.. I bought 2 more Jeffree Star lipsticks. My friend was buying it so.. I got persuaded. And it's so so much cheaper now because we bought in bulk and we got to save on the shipping fee. So each lipstick became $27. Like omg. I saved so much D: I feel a little dumb and cheated now for getting only unicorn blood the first time):
I bought posh spice and dirty money. I ordered it last month and it just came a few days ago. I can't wait to try them XD
Posh Spice is like a slightly lighter version of my sandstorm, so I'm really happy because it would probably suit my skin tone then. The colour looks really good I can't wait to try it!!!!
Dirty money is a lot darker than I expected but the colour looks gooodddd . Emergard. I think it might be a little tough to match clothes for this shade but we'll see how it goes. Really excited for thiss!!!
Also I heard that there is a xmas series coming soon, and my friends are really keen on buying again. I'm quite torn about getting one too. I guess I'll see the colours and decide again. One of them wants to get Abused, Gemini & Androgyny too. AND THEY ARE THE SHADES THAT I WANT TOO BUT OMG EVEN THOUGH IT'S 27 WITHOUT SHIPPING IT'S STILL QUITE EX IF I KEEP BUYING.
I shall.. choose one lololol
I've been looking for alternatives to Jeffree's Liquid Lipsticks because I no longer feel comfortable buying his products.. As much as I love the formula and how great it is, I do not agree with his ways and thus I've decided not to buy from him anymore.
It is definitely tough to find a new option because I don't know what other brands are as good, so I went to find out online and tested those that I can find.
I tried Kat Von D's everlasting liquid lipstick in Sephora, amongst other brands like Too Faced, Benefit and Sephora, and I like Kat's formula the best. Mainly because the swatches feels really light, and it is more smudge proof than the others. The price is also reasonable for a good quality liquid lipstick, and well, a lot cheaper than Jeffree's because there is no shipping fee. Ashley being a bae, got this for me because she wanted to see me wear it.
The colour I got is Requiem, it is a light purple shade, a little pinkish perhaps. I have never tried such a shade so I'm trusting on Ashley's taste on this! I am excited on how it'll look on me because it looked fine when I swatched on my hand.
There are a few shades that I like too, and if this turns out well, I might save up and get other shades in the future(: They are Lolita & Outlaw.
It's also nice that Sephora is giving out a sample liquid eyeliner with every Kat Von D item purchased. Can't wait to try that after my current eyeliner is finished.
Also! I found out recently that OG carries RiRe! It's a Korean cosmetics brand, and I wanted to get their powdered lipstick. Previously I thought I could only get it online as Singapore probably do not sell them. And it's quite costly with the shipping fee so I kind of forgot about it. But now there is hope again! Each powdered lipstick is $25, which I find to be reasonable. Especially so if the lipstick is good quality! I swatched the colours and it is magical! The powder just melts and turns liquid. I might get it one day. Their normal lipstick is pretty good too, they turn matte and stays really well!
